For the past twenty-two years, the
Advanced Rescue Techniques School of Canada (Technical Rope and Water Rescue Division of
Equinox Adventures) has specialized in High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, and Ice Rescue training including Awareness, Operational, Technician, and Trainer level programs. We are the original designers and sole suppliers of the High Angle Rescue
"Train the Trainer" courses in Canada. All rescue programs are
U.L.C. and N.F.P.A 1670 and 1006 compliant. Our programs are the only programs in Canada that include total student equipment outfitting. We are Canada's, first and foremost, complete River Rescue, High Angle Rescue, and Wilderness Rescue School and we provide custom programs for rescue teams, industry, commercial, labour groups, clubs, and individuals. Dual accreditation is available through Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology.
Director Paul Sevcik is a graduate of the National Mountaineering School in North Wales. He is a Level II Instructor and Chair of the Instruction Committee for the Ontario Rock Climbing Association. He has served as an Instructor Trainer for the Ontario Wild Water Affiliation for nine years and has been a trip leader licensed under the Eastern Canadian River Outfitters since 1981. He is the Chief Instructor for Seneca College's Industrial Rope and Water Rescue Program. Paul also holds professional memberships with the National Association for Search and Rescue, the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians, and the Industrial Fire Protection Association.
Our staff are certified, full time, Rescue Trainers providing leading edge research, development, and program delivery. We have the best student to instructor ratios in the industry and our programs include total student outfitting and manuals at no additional charge. The programs are available through regularly scheduled courses or may be booked by group or company specific scheduling and location needs. ** Nos cours sont disponibles en français.
We are flattered to have trained many of our competitors but we encourage you NOT to settle for less expertise, quality, and value than the original rescue specialists, the Advanced Rescue Techniques School of Canada.
