Swift Water and Flood Power Boat Technician Course
REVISED 2009 FORMAT TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION
An intensive four day hands on course held on the world famous Ottawa River or at select Regional Sites for Custom Courses. We use a Jet Boat, Inflatable Rescue Boat, and a Personal Water Craft with a rescue sled for contact rescues in swift water in a variety of scenarios. This course provides a perfect simulation for flood rescue response teams. Participants will spend two full days of real time practice in these rescue craft under real time rescue simulations in swift water. Emphasis will be on safe vessel handling and effective victim retrieval.
This course includes a session where participants will receive a Canadian Coast Guard accredited Boat Safe Course and write their Pleasure Craft Operator test to qualify for their Pleasure Craft Operator's card.
